I am working as a Utilities Process Engineer at Engro Chemical Paksitan Ltd. At our Ammonia Urea Complex we are draining about 80 US GPM ( about 20 % of makeup water ) of boiler blow down after recovering flash steam and make up water heatup. This blow down is still much superior in quality compared with aour demineralizer feed water quality ( TDS: 120 Vs TDS : 300 of make up water ). We plan to mix the blow down with demineralizer feed water and recycle back into system. However I am not sure if this is a good option. I f any body can comment on it.
