Boiler requirements of about 60,000 BTU to heat the 275 gallon up 95 degrees F. in one hour. And then about 30,000 BTUs per hour to maintain the temperature in the winter. This would be about a 3 BHP.

I would look at a hot oil system instead of a boiler since the highest temperature is 145 degrees F.

Hope this helps.

Bob

: I need to size a boiler system to heat oil for a biodiesel plant. The oil enters at 50 degrees and needs a temperature rise to 145 degree. @ 275 gallons per hour and retain temperature on 1800 gallons within the system of tanks with in the process continous. I have heat exchangers at each 300 gallon tank to recirculate heat. The boiler should be oil fired with a 500 gallon storage tank. I need some expert assistance ASAP.
: Thanks
: Steve
