Hi all -
new to the forum. We've got a gas-fired burnham boiler for our home steam heat system. After servicing, it works pretty well. My only concern is that when the power goes out, the gas valve and electric thermostat can't function and we lose heat. It seems the transformer on the boiler puts out 24VDC - does anyone have thoughts about installing a UPS battery-backup device like computers use to provide at least a few hours of heat in case of a power failure?
