: do most water treatment companies test for dissolved oxgyen in boiler, and what is the cause, and the solution.

With proper deaeration there should be no dissolved oxygen in the boiler water. Dissolved oxygen is removed in the deaerating feedwater heater. Testing for DO in the deaerator should be performed at regular intervals and preferably at maximum load on the deaerator. The Heat Exchange Institute sets the standards deaerators and by design a deaerator should produce water having an oxygen content of 7 - 10 ppb as dissolved oxygen. The balance of the oxygen is removed with an oxygen scavenger such as sodium sulfite.
