Gotta Peerless furnace/boiler. It's connected to a side-arm domestic HW heater. The system is about 10 years old. I just turned the HW thermostat up to 6 (max) in order to get a final temp of 120 at the taps. The mystery is that the first water out of the taps is 135-150! This drops back to 120 after 30-180 seconds. The variation is attributable to the proximity of the tap to the heater: closer is hotter and takes more time to drop. Any idea what's going on?
