Utilizing Continuous Running Feedpumps with Modulating Feedvalve:
- During normal operation the boiler feedpump sends the feedwater through the economizer, modulating feedvalve, and into the boiler.
- When the feedvalve is completely shut, a small recirculation line back to the DA is required to maintain flow in the economizer to avoid a stagnant flow situation. A stagnant flow situation will lead to economizer steaming and hammering, possibly leading to economizer and boiler damage.
