Economizer Installation for Non-Deaerated Feedwater Utilizing A Continuous Running Circulation Pump From an Open Condensate Tank. Unit design specifics:

Duplex stainless steel economizer tubes with stainless steel fins are required due to dissolved oxygen in the water.
Upgrade to Duplex stainless steel required to prevent against chloride stress corrosion cracking of any 300 series stainless steel tube.

Installation adequate for natural gas firing and #2 oil firing

Any economizer that is installed in a possible condensing application MUST be designed with provisions in the lower transition to collect and drain all condensation from the stack, preventing it from entering and damaging the boiler.

This installtion is ideal for applications with high amounts of relativly cold <160 F condensate return or make-up water. The colder inlet water temperatures allows for a higher economizer delta T, therefore higher recover. This installation is also one of the easiest to install and operate.

During normal operation the new circulator pump sends the feedwater through the economizer and back into the condensate receiver tank.
