We have recently installed a new boiler plant in our facility consisting of 4-10 hp Bryan water-tube steam boilers which supply a hot water heating loop via a heat exchanger. Each is fitted with a stop gate valve and a check valve with the steam line connected to a main header. All the check valves emmit a constant chattering noise when their boilers are making steam. Is this an indication of a problem? We are also experiencing overfilling in a boiler if it's been idle for more then a couple of hours.
