I currently have one zone(1 thermostat), but the hotwater baseboard is piped for 2 separate zones. In other words the thermostat valve is before the pipes split into each zones. After the pipes split there is a shut off valve for each piped zone. I was told that I could use these shut off valves to control how much heat goes into each zone. Is this true? will closing one of the zones half way or more cause problems to my heating system?
