I assume you are reffering to bio or digester gas as natural gas is nearly 100% metane. We have done some conversions. The problem with this fuel is the sulfur. It is not a good candidate for low pressure steam or similar hot-water boilers as the stack temperatures are too low to keep the sulfur from condensing and forming sulfuric acid. We have blocked passes and had special low efficient boilers made to get around this problem on some jobs.
