Hurst boilers come with a loose Kaowool type of insulation versus our packed ceramic insulation. While lightweight fiber type insulation is good at reducing heat loss it does not hold up in service. Flue gases are exposed to this insulation, which then gets soggy and corrodes due to the products of combustion. Eventually the outer jacket will rust through.
