If they mean "remote shutdown" switch for LP (heating) boilers, then a means (switch or breaker) for shutting off the burner (heating plant shutddown) should be located "just outside the boiler room door" (HG-634). The "rule" goes on - if the boiler room door is on the building exterior, the switch should be located just inside the door. If there is more than one door to the boiler room, there should be a switch located at each door. I can't quckly find a specific "rule" requirement for HP power-type boilers, but it pretty much follows unless there is a specific reason for not doing so. Hope this helps.
