Maybe check flame amplifier signal strength at the test jacks; maybe a bad flame amp module or flame detector? Depending on which module you have, if the "self-check" fails (which could be intermittent - damn electronics) that would shut her down and leave you scratching your head. If you don't have a manual for the 7800, or maybe not exactly the right one(s), download 'em. Good luck.
