I do not think it is the brand of valve. You are getting short life because your flow is probably cavitating in the trim, eating it away. You need to pick a valve that either has anti-cavitation trim or will not be so effected by it. I work for the Fisher rep, we have globe style control valves that are used in feedwater all the time - AND so do a lot of other manufacturers....
