Hey guys quick question. I an operating engineer who is out of work and I am looking into taking my boiler licensing exams. Heres my problem. In order to take the LA city unlimited exam, or even the 500hp exam for that matter, you need to have stated experience on company letterhead from a previous employer. The building that I used to work at was a new building and all we had for heating was hot water boilers no steam ones so I cant state that as experience. I have various training books that I have read in order to prep for the test but im kinda stuck. Employers want people who have their license but you need to have experience in order to get it. Kinda seems like a catch 22 to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
