Recently one of our 70,000 B&W water tube boilers has not been dropping pressure as expected while in hot stand-by. Due to economic situations (we've laid-off engineers and supervision) I am unable to get management personnel to understand the significance of heating a boiler which hasn't been fired in two weeks to on-line temp within two hours. Does anyone have a good source for the stress factors associated with such a dramatically fast heat up?
