We are planning to replace one of two Kewanee 500hp FT boilers. Our maximum load is about 600hp at 10 degree OSA and we run at maybe 20% capacity or less most of the time as it rarely gets that cold here in Western Oregon. The plan is to replace one Kewanee with two Cleaver Brooks water tube boilers. The foot print will not allow for two fire tube boilers. I have never run water tube boilers and would appreciate any coments related to this project. I assume that one large fire tube boiler would be less efficient than the two WT. Any thoughts on life cycle costs etc. Thanks, Ken
