I am operating a 57 MW Brown Boveri condensing Turboset. (BBC). My question is how low can I operate the steam Turbine Outlet Temperature before you run the risk of condensing from low temperature. I was told to not go below 135 degree F. With the inlet temp coming in at 850 degrees and the ambient temp at 36 degrees F (or warmer during the day) and the barometic pressure at 30 my back pressure was running 6.5 HGA. With these numbers is there a risk of moisture on the low end blades? The control room has no set Standard control operting limits, so it all, he said, I said hand me down type of training. Any help will be greatly appreaciated.
