What are the correct procedures for removing rolled-in tubes from a heat exchanger? What are the acceptable tools necessary for use in this procedure? We are having some tubes removed from a heat exchanger(chiller), and have noticed the sub is drilling beside the tube ends then inserting some sort of tool to cut the end and removing. In doing this, damage is being done to the tube sheet causing them to have to weld up then grind off. I have concerns with sealing surfaces being compromised on this multi-pass heat exchanger.
