The longer you take to cool down, and to warm up a boiler, the better off you will be, especially with HRSG's. Most of the HRSG's are designed to get up pretty quickly, BUT they are very rigid boilers and rapid warm up will present problems. I know of a few plants that will take 16 -24 hours on a cool down, but the warm up is 4 - 6 hours.
