These are general questions pertaining to our interest in making a significant revision to our traveling grate stoker-fired boiler. We believe we want to replace the Laclede feed system with a spreader feeder on the opposite wall. My questions are:
1. Is there a crusty old expert around to discuss this with?
2. We would apparently have to remove the ignition arch. How does a spreader-stoker bed ignite without an arch?
