I am a brewer by trade and currently starting another small brewery. I am going to use a steam fired kettle to boil my beer. I used to brew for a brewery that was in an old school building built in 1916. They had tapped into the old boiler in that building and used it to boil the beer as well as heat the building. I have been given and am currently dismantling a CRANE CO. (SEATTLE) boiler out of a house basement. The only numbers I could find were CAT. #1-8; SERIES B-A, STEAM PRESSURE 15; and WATER PRESSURE 30. I don't know the vintage of this boiler but it is in very nice shape. It has been fired by stove oil and I want to fire it with propane. The main cast body is 4 pieces that are somehow sealed together with some kind of caulk or sealer. If anyone can give me some insight to all of my question and where maybe I can get some tech info on this particular boiler, I would appreciate it. Thanks, Scott
