I am getting ready to install a lot of low pressure traps on an existing steam system that is about 30 years old. the customer has a lot of galvanized fittings he wants me to use because of the rising price of iron fittings. I seem to recall that there was a reason why galvanized fittings are not used. i have always used black but cannot see any reason against using up these old galv. fittings on his job,and they are all made in the USA, i have seen a lot of that overseas galv. fittings that i would not even run tap water through, any thoughts would help.
