: We've taken down our steam system in one area and are looking at preserving the pipes, coils and traps. I have heard of passivating pipes for chill water, but am not sure about the same procedure in steam systems. Does anyone have any experience. The length of time to store is undetermined, but most likely more than a year, so look at it from a longest-available storage process.
: Thanks in advanced.

Look up Cortec VCI. VCI is volatile corrosion inhibitor. They have products for boiler dry layup to prevent corrosion, they will probably work for the steam line. Or they may have a specific product for that.
