Boiler replace or refurbish

We are going to be replacing two boilers in the near future, the cleaver brooks is a nice running boiler, 36 years old. Would it be wise to send it out and refurbish it compared to getting a new unit. It is a "D" style water tube boiler. We also have an "A" style wickes that is going to need attention also, is refurbishing a viable option?
