There is savings from instantaneous heaters using steam, but they need more steam than a storage unit (not in the long run but instantaneously), so you may not have enough capacity in the present boiler.
If you do change boilers, you can get one with water coils in the boiler that will also be a good idea, or an ultr-effecient condensing hot water boiler.
