Quick Question,
My heating plant consists of A superior 508HP boiler & two bigelow 304HP boilers, my steam load is approx 8,000lbs/hr @ 98psi. My feed system is a Grundfoss pump set with a cap of 32-97 gal/min. we use a honeywell regulating valve set, and maintain back pressure with a 1-1/4" spence regulating valve. we maintain the press @ 125psi
the Question is,
Monday morning i receive my largest load demand. the boilers chug along fine but the feed system cant keep up therfore the boilers go out on low water.
could my feed system be undersized? or is the key in the back pressure regulator?
