Had asbestoes removal crew take out all insulation about six months ago. Bean counters dragging feet on replacing it. Feel the heat radiating off the pipes like sunshine. Note the steam output is showing an increase lately and wondering if heat loss would actually show up on the charts. So, question is, is there a standard for heat loss, say btu per square foot of surface, for a pipe at 330 degrees into a 75 degree surrounding? Or some way to figure this without a master's degree? Thanks.
