Can I use a ball valve for the radiator shut-off on a steam system? I'm installing a copper tube&fin baseboard. There is no access to come up to the radiator from underneath like a normal installation, so I can't use your normal through-the-floor shut off valve. How about a bronze ball valve on the same plane as the side inlet of the baseboard? I've never seen a ball valve used for a radiator shut off so I'm wondering if there's a reason I shouldn't do it this way.
Thanks,
