: I saw a while back where an engineer showed how they get boiler efficiency. I am missing one part of the equation. I don't know how to get the enthalpy of feedwater. If someone could help me it will be greatly appreciated. Please take into consideration I am not an engineer, so please try to be easy on me and make the response as simple as possible. Thanks.

You can obtain the enthalpy from steam tables but in a nutshell the enthalpy of feedwater at 212 deg F is 180 btu/lb and at 228 deg F from typical 5 psig deaerator is 196 btu/lb.
