I will certantly take your work that it occurs on a coal fired utility boiler because i don't have any experience with them and I am not a boiler operator but more of a package boiler consultant. I have seen plenty of coal fired boilers in my line of work but its usually when I have to commission a package boiler for them because they did something wrong with their boiler. If you ever run across a package watertube boiler in your plant thats has been running at a high firing rate, the level will drop out of the glass when there is a trip just because of the nature of its design of a higher heat liberation rates to squeeze out as much steam as possible in a smaller heating surface area. But I guess we are really are talking apples to oranges:) Hey I learned something about a coal fired boiler :~)
