Superior Boiler made the biggest firetube so far and it was a 2200hp. Then again I agree that serial number one is not a good amount of history. I believe johnston is in the process of making a 2500 HP but im not sure. Also Don Lee (aka York Shipley) has made some 1800 HP. I personaly would not go with a firetube over 800HP and I also agree that the potential for more casualties from a firetube explosion than a watertube is high. This is a good conversasion
and I don't mean to come down hard on you but in a perfect world one does not expect his boiler to explode and I beleive any pressure vessel that was to B.L.E.V.E. is going to be pretty severe regaurdless of the size of the boiler. Someone is going to get hurt by way of blown doors or or total failure. Watertube will contain most of the explosion from a combustion standpiont just by the way they are designed and constructed than a firetube.
