:We have been operating our boiler in a similar fashion for 7 years without any problems.
The only drawback to operating this way is a reduction in plant efficiency; you do not have as much enthalpy available in the steam at the turbine inlet, so the amount of power produced by the turbine per unit mass of steam is not as much as it could be. Refer to Mollier chart or steam tables. The main reason we are operating this way is to keep the metal temperature of our primary superheater, 2nd pass from exceeding a maximum value (not attemperated). We have had problems here over the years due to a design flaw.
Discuss with the boiler manufacturer.
