: Is there usually one person on duty in a boilerroom or is a a common practice for saftey reasons to have 2 or more? Is there any codes to go by for this?

We have one person per shift, 3 guys 3 shifts 7 days, have off every third week end other guys work 12's. Management always finds "other" work for us outside the boiler room (if you don't do it we were told we will be fired) we have 2 high pressure boilers the NJ code says you must be with in sight or natural sound of the boiler. I do not know of anything that says there has to be more than 1 person. Carl
