I would like to know the effect of volaile matter on the efficiency of sub bituminus coal fired FBC boiler. How the efficiency or excess air level will vary if the coal fired in the FBC, has volatile matter more and less than the designed value? Is it recommended to fire coal which contains less volatile matter but higher calorific value than the coal recommended for the boiler?
