: We've taken down our steam system in one area and are looking at preserving the pipes, coils and traps. I have heard of passivating pipes for chill water, but am not sure about the same procedure in steam systems. Does anyone have any experience. The length of time to store is undetermined, but most likely more than a year, so look at it from a longest-available storage process.
: Thanks in advanced.

Your water treatment & amines should give the film inside the pipe that you are looking for, just make sure that all drains are open & free so that moisture cannot build anywhere. We just had some sections of our system down for a while & we did some inspection & the piping looked fine.
