Hi Guido. You are about to embark on a new career in servicing small burners and boilers. A standard thorough boiler service procedure includes attention to the chimney, venting, boiler manufacturer specification conformance, burner component fitness and adjustment, controls inspection for reasonable accuracy, pressure reducing and/or feed water valve and safety relief operation, water quality.

To the owner, a boiler is a boiler, and anyone who can ride on a cruise ship can race a kyak through white water. Take away the turbines, staged pumps, tube relining, brickwork, Bailey Boards, and oil preheaters, and what do you have left that looks like a residential boiler? This new career may take some time to master. Time for a vocational course in boiler/burner and a few years of experience in residential systems.
