Excessive cycling can harm your boiler...when the burner cuts off, the boiler metal quickly reaches water temp. When the burner cuts back on, the same metal then has to be heated well above water temp to produce steam and increase pressure again...this can lead to stresses on the first pass tube sheet causing leaking tubes and/or cracks to occur.

Adjust your controls to where the boiler will run as long as possible between shutdowns.
