The boiler is made in Germany by Mawera and is welded. The hot gases pass through the shell twice and run across the bottom of the shell once. It was the tube sheet that overheated. This tubesheet is a hinged door to access the tubes for cleaning. The furnace is supplied with combustion air via two fans, and there is a larger induced draft fan drawing the hot gases through the boiler and out to stack.
