Typicaly A feed water tank should run the boiler for 20 min with no make up water.Figure out the pounds per hour of steam Your unit produces. divide by 8 and this will give you the us gal per hour Your boiler consummes. If I had to geuss You probably use 125 us gal per hour or 42 in 20 min. Also check that the make up water flow is enough to keep the level in the tank. You should check Your blow down as well. It may be opening too long if it is automatic.
