Often times a company will take a tube sample to be sent out for analysis and pad weld the area where the tube sample was removed. GTAW works well for this. This is usually very small. If you are plugging a lot of tubes you definitely have a problem, scale, corrosion etc. I assume this is a water tube boiler. Send us some additional information on the boiler like how many tubes are plugged and some operating specifics about the boiler. Dutchman work well as long as the welders know what they are doing, again GTAW works well for this, but there comes a time when it is more cost effective to retube.
