: A lot of boiler explosions are attributed to less purge of the furnace befor lighting the burner. Can someone explain this term in detail?
: I would be extremely grateful

In the case of gas, air and gas mixture witch contents 2% TO 15% of gas is explodable. Below 2% it will not burn at all, over 15% it will just burn without explosion. This is a reason for pre and after purge.
