An important ittem often overlooked when reducing the eoperating pressure is the steam flow measurement. Steam is usually measured by the pressure differential across an orifice plate. When you reduce the pressure, the flow equation is no longer valid for the meter and you will get erroneous steam production values. You will end up with lower steam production efficiencies only because the numbers are in error. A computer program that can catch and correct for this problem is available at www.boileroptimizer.com
