So I got a good look at that tube after i was pulled. Yeah, you are right, it is oxygen pitting. To answer your question, yes, we keep it filled, and i can't tell ya if my guy adds an oxygen scavenger or not.

The funny thing is, we were instructed to leave the boiler filled. This was *supposed* to keep oxygen from screwing things up, but by next season, I will have either learned what I need to know about the chemicals needed for "summer storage", or i will follow your advice and drain/clean.

thanks again for the responce, can I ask one more Q?

I'm still wondering about the proper levels of all the important chemicals...I'll get the test kit soon, and I'll do the test, but that won't help much unless i know how much of everything I'm supposed to have......

any advice on this?
