: I believe I will be interviewing for an entry level boiler operator job at a large university.

: I did six in the Navy where I was a nuclear power plant operator making the steam side go. I also did a couple years at a city power plant as a mechanic. This was over ten years ago though so I'm a little rusty.

: This is probably no simple question but can anyone give me some guidelines as to what questions are asked at these interviews.

: It is a coal burning plant, makes steam for the buildings as well as generates some electricity.

: I'm not trying to snow these guys but I would like to at least not sound stupid. I've got the Steingrass book on HP Boilers. Also the Russell book on questions for the license test. But there is a lot of info in here and I'd like to narrow my studies down so that I can give a good interview, get this job, and start a new life in a new part of the country after the nasty divorce I just went through.

: Thanks for your help.

Just relax...The navy has the best training in boilers anywhere. Get an Audel book or a boiler manual and cram a little bit. The fact that you are a veteran will help. Especially at a university. Don't wear red! lol...they interperet people who wear red as know it alls and control freaks...believe it or not. I was told that by an interviewer. Just be yourself and be polite. You should be alright.
