: how we can decrease boiler drum alkalinity. why it is necessary to keep a certain level of alkalinty maitain in drum water. if alkalinity increases its limits what harm it can do to boiler. further , what chemicals are used to increase alkalinity levels in boiler drum? thanx.

how to improve boiler pH?
my boiler working at 40bar/385c for process useage
amine
sodium tripoly phosphate
and DEHA
the above chemicals are of BUCKMAN but found not effective.
Frequent use of Caustic is a common practice for pH improvement.
Would u suggest caustic free pH enviornment for boiler.
Also will be appriciated water and steam quality
like pH, cond,SiO2 and other matters parameters the latest one.
Thanks a lot.
