Tony is right, but even without the trap blowing through you will get potential cavitation and most definately water hammer.
The discharge from traps will always have steam that has flashed by going through the pressure drop of the trap. This flash steam will hit the cooler water of the feedwater, condense on itself and cause thermal water hammer.
Always, you should segregate pumped water from steam trap discharge. It is always dangerous. So, pipe this trap discharge back to the DA or to your condensate reciever if you have one
