: Zaib,
: 1-Any mineral concentration difference between feed and boiler water what remains in the water can be used to calculate the concentration factor. Sometimes purity of the feed water is such that only Si can be taken into calculation, although part of Si go’s with the steam.

: 3-What do understand by purity of heavy fuel oil? Heavy fuel oil is such a complex mixture of hydrocarbons. Most important properties are.
: BS&W, sulphur content, viscosity, asphalten content, density. None of them simple to measure

c.b.d. is constant surface blow down....c.c. is cycles of concentration...eh, Zaib? You got the basic idea Zaib...all impurities that remain in suspension and don't carry over with the steam can be isolated and compared relative to their level in the feed water...Seek a local oil company to spin down a fuel sample or have your supplier provide certified lab stats....if you work in a Hospital plant, get chummy with the lab guys and spin down a heated sample...impurities will settle out...
