: : Having a second McDonnel Level control, is it mandatory
: : or matter of choice! And what it sposed to do?

: It usually acts as a secondary low water cutoff, frequently with

: depends on the laws of the state you are in.

Two low water cutouts are gernerally required and very good to have anyway. The primary is usually a McDonald Miller with a float and the secondary is generally probes inserted in to the drum. The secondary is usually a manual reset where the primary is generally a auto reset, but could also be a manual reset. Check with your jurisdiction to make sure of the codes in your area.
