If you are speaking to larger power boilers, utility, pulp & paper category
you could investigate Babcock & Wilcox " Steam Its Generation and Use, 46th Edition.
It has several chapters devoted to performance and combusiton related issues.

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) also provides what are refered
to as Power Test Codes (PTC's), actual number I don't have at my desk however.
They also produce construction specifications for Power and Heating boilers under
separate Code(s) Section I Power Boiler, Section IV Heating Boilers.

The DIN standards of Europe are also common in foreign countries too.
Also, the American Boiler Manufacturers Association also has information on this
type of material.

You could also obtain, usually free of charge, product information from the respective
boiler manufacturer on smaller size units used in heating and light
industrial applications.
